How do I get a quote?

You can either call us directly or email us with your details and we will arrange a site visit to carry out a free site survey and quotation.

Will I need a structural engineer or Architect?

As soon as we carry out the initial site survey we can advise you of whether you will need a structural engineer or architect. Don’t worry if you do, we work with some of the best in the business. Their rates are very reasonable and we have vetted them for quality and service.

What if I have my own Architect or structural engineer?

We are more than happy to work with other designers, architects and engineers.

Do you deal with building regulations and planning?

We liaise with building control from start to finish and will make sure we obtain your building control certificate once works are complete. Our designers and architects are more than willing to assist in getting your project through planning and building control whether it is a building notice or full plans.

Do you require a deposit before works start?

No… we are confident enough with our own work that you will be more than happy to settle the bill once we have finished. On occasion, if it’s a large project, we do take staged payments for works already carried out.

How long will the job take?

We are normally able to give you advice on this at the initial site meeting.

Do you work on listed buildings?

Yes, we work all buildings from hotels, residential to grade listed buildings.

How soon can you start?

How soon do you need us to start?

Are you able to run the whole project?

Distinction are a main contractor company, able to project manage the entire project to include labour, materials, health and safety, with the inclusion of separate specialist trades if requested. We also work with our own scaffold company Distinction Scaffold Ltd to ensure that everything is completed to a high standard.

Do I get a warranty?

We can provide a warranty for up to 10 years on all new complete works – please ask for more information.

Are you in the Federation of Master Builders?

We certainly are, as well as Gas Safety, NIC EIC, CSCS EBC, CITB  and we are also CHAS registered for Health and Safety.

What happens if we change our mind part way through the job and want to add or take something out of the quotation?

We are flexible about this, you can’t be expected to think of everything at the very beginning of the project, sometimes a room will be bigger or smaller than you first envisaged so it may give you more options.

If you would like to change something, all we do is raise a variation form, this will tell us what the change is and what costs are if any. There may even be a deduction from the original quotation.
